Objectives

  1. Explain why accurate blood pressure measurement technique is critical to correctly diagnosing and controlling hypertension
  2. Prevent the most common blood pressure reading errors
  3. Demonstrate the proper technique for taking an accurate blood pressure reading
  4. Describe measurement considerations for specific patient populations

 

There is no fee for participation in this program. Following attendance, completion and submission of the Verification of Attendance and Evaluation forms, PSW will issue CE to participants’ CPE Monitor portals within 60 days of completion. Participants must provide their birthdate (MMDD) and CPE Monitor ID in order to receive credit.

  3. Use motivational interviewing and health literacy techniques to educate patients on SMBP
  4. Describe the technique a patient should use to accurately perform SMBP
  5. Describe guidelines for self-measurement frequency and reporting
