Databases of Assistance Programs
Rx Assist
A comprehensive database of patient assistance programs providing extensive resources to improve medication access. Available to both providers and patients. Search by drug name or by pharmaceutical company to find available assistance programs.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance
Phone: 1-888-4PPA-NOW (1-888-477-2669)
Provides direction to patients, providers and prescribers on available assistance programs offered by public or private programs. Criteria are based on patient need and are for those not covered by a prescription drug plan.

Benefits Check Up
Provides a comprehensive screen of federal, state, local and private benefits. Available to those 55 years and older. Offered by the National Council on Aging, as non-profit program to assist older people.

Needy Meds
Needy Meds is a non-profit organization, providing a database of available prescription assistance programs. Information on programs is provided via internet links and descriptions. Available programs include brand name, generic and company specific programs.

Rx Hope
Rx Hope is an internet based web portal that removes the time and paperwork of submitting assistance applications. The website is designed for healthcare providers. Database is accessed by medication, company or by state of residence.

Abbott is a member of the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (listed above)

Amgen
Amgen has developed the Reimbursement Connection® to provide patient assistance for their products. Assistance is provided to those who are uninsured or underinsured with limited financial resources. This website provides information on the programs and provides the phone number needed to apply (1-800-272-9376)

Astra-Zeneca
This website provides patient assistance programs for qualifying Disproportionate Share Hospitals, community health centers, and community free clinics to help better serve the low-income, outpatient populations at these facilities. Facility populations must be made up of more than 50% indigent patients. The facility providing care must be affiliated with a medical residency program.

Daiichi Sankyo
Daiichi provides a program called Open Care. The program is available to qualified patients who have financial and medical need. Patients must not have another form of reimbursement for their products (ie. prescription medication plan). Applications are available from a representative or may be requested via the Open Care Program hotline (1 866 268 7327).

Genzyme (Renagel® assistance)
The Renagel® Patient Assistance Program (RPAP) is designed for patients in financial need who have no coverage for Renagel under prescription drug benefits, Medicare, Medicaid, or other state-funded programs.

Hoffman-Roche
Roche is a corporate supporter of Partnership for Prescription Assistance. Their assistance program is operated through a toll-free caller system 1-877-75ROCHE (877-757-6243).

Lilly
Eli Lilly provides many different patient assistance programs including Lilly Cares™ LillyAnswers®, LillyMedicareAnswers, Lilly Oncology, Xigris Treatment Support, and Humatrope assistance. This website provides links to each of their programs and the information needed to receive assistance.

Merck
This Web site will help you understand the program material, answer questions, provide eligibility information, and describe what you need to do to receive assistance. The website does provide a link to request an application.

Novartis
This website is offered by Novartis as a medication specific assistance program and is eligible to US citizens, with specific income, who do not have private or public prescription drug coverage. Medications listed are all Novartis and Novartis subsidiary specific medications.

Pfizer
Pfizer provides a listing of all available assistance programs sponsored by their company (Connection to Care, Sharing the Care, Pfizer Hospital Partnership Program, Pfizer Pfriends, etc). The programs included in the listing are for medication assistance and support programs. The listing provides links and contact numbers on how to register for each program. The majority of the programs do require that no public or private drug coverage be available for eligibility.

Proctor & Gamble
P&G provide a patient assistance program for US citizens who do not have affordable prescription coverage and meet a financial requirement. P&G produces Actonel®, Actonel® with Calcium, Asacol®, Dantrium®, Didronel®, Macrobid® and Macrodantin®.

Sanofi Aventis
Is a member of the Together Rx program offering assistance to those without prescription drug coverage.

Serono
Serono offers prescription assistance for most of its products and has program toll free numbers for each medication.

Schering-Plough
Schering-Plough offers two programs of medication assistance: Commitment to Care & SP Cares. Commitment to Care provides access to cancer and hepatitis medications for those who meet eligibility criteria. SP Cares is an assistance program for low-income patients who do not have prescription drug coverage or who are Medicare beneficiaries who have spent 3% of their income out of pocket for prescription medications in a year.

Solvay
Solvay patient assistance programs provide aid to those who meet financial criteria and who receive prescriptions for Solvay medications. The website provides application forms that may completed electronically and submitted via mail or fax.

Takeda
Patient medication assistance programs through Takeda, require financial eligibility and also requires that patient s not be enrolled in public or private prescription medication coverage.

Wyeth
Wyeth provides links to medication assistance programs for both Wyeth and non-Wyeth medication products. The website provides information on eligibility, qualification and resources for registration into the programs.
