Leadership Pharmacy Conference

The Leadership Pharmacy Conference, a new practitioner leadership conference, takes place at the Eagle Ridge Inn and Resort near Galena, Illinois annually in August. The conference, combining professional and social functions over three days, provides an unequaled opportunity for pharmacists relatively new to their profession to develop skills which enable both personal and professional growth. Participants network with fellow selected pharmacists (10 from Wisconsin and 10 from Iowa) as well as the presidential officers and staff leaders of the Iowa Pharmacy Association and Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin while engaging in programming, recreational activities, and issues discussions.

Eligibility & Application

  • Current PSW member pharmacists within their first 3-15 years of practice who reside and/or practice in Wisconsin may apply. Those pharmacists within their first two years of practice are encouraged to apply at a later time.
  • Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential, be involved in professional and/or community activities, and demonstrate clarity and vision in responses to application questions.
  • Although pharmacists currently working as PGY1 and PGY2 residents are not eligible to apply, residency program graduates are encouraged to apply!

All eligible applications received prior to the deadline for submission are reviewed by the members of the Wisconsin Pharmacy Foundation Board and 10 participants from Wisconsin are selected. The Board typically reviews over 50 applications for the conference. Those applicants not selected are encouraged to submit an application the following year.





Please consider nominating a pharmacist within their first 3-15 years of practice to participate in the Leadership Pharmacy Conference. Those eligible pharmacists that are nominated will be invited to complete a conference application. Although pharmacists that have not been nominated may still apply, a nomination is considered as part of the applicants materials.

Conference Goals

  1. Provide conference participants with strong leadership training
  2. Increase conference participants’ awareness of issues impacting the profession of pharmacy nationally and in their own state
  3. Encourage the involvement of all new practitioners in professional and community activities
  4. Demonstrate the interest of PSW in developing new practitioners for leadership positions within the profession
