Educational Programming Advisory Committee

Committee Information

Purpose

PSW's Educational Programming Advisory Committee helps to support the PSW mission to provide innovative, evidence-based, and accessible education for pharmacy practitioners, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and students. Educational offerings include live, written, and web-based continuing education (CPE) focused on clinical topics, pharmacy law, management, leadership, patient safety, and immunization. We promote lifelong learning and professional development.

Continuing Pharmacy Education Goals

  • Offer ACPE-accredited education for pharmacists and technicians.
  • Provide flexible formats: live, virtual, and on-demand.
  • Support member engagement and PSW’s strategic goals.
  • Meet Wisconsin state licensure and PTCB/NHA recertification requirements.
  • Ensure inclusion, equity, and representation of patients and members in education.
See the PSW Educational Plan 2025-2027 for more information.

Roles and Responsibilities

The PSW Educational Programming Advisory Committee (EPAC) oversees and supports the development and delivery of educational programming that focuses on the educational needs of pharmacy professionals practicing in Wisconsin. The committee plays an essential role in educational programming oversight and is engaged in ensuring PSW’s compliance with American College of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education to maintain PSW’s status as an accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education.

The committee is supported by the PSW Director of Professional & Educational Services and ACPE CPE Administrator, and 18 dedicated volunteer pharmacy professionals across the State of Wisconsin. The primary focus of the committee is planning educational programming that includes PSW’s two major conferences, the Educational Conference and the Annual Meeting.

Those interested in sharing their knowledge through PSW Educational Offerings are encouraged to complete an application/RFP. Additionally potential speakers are encouraged to review the PSW Speaker Handbook for more details.

Structure

The Committee is comprised of a Chair, Vice Chair, and Committee members serving staggered two year calendar appointments with possible reappointment to an additional term, and one PSW staff member (indefinite term).

This committee reports to the PSW Board of Directors, and works collaboratively with the membership of the Wisconsin Pharmacy Residency Conference Planning Committee, and all PSW pratice-based advisories and the PSW Technciain Section Board to develop a robust educational plan.

Meetings

Monthly for one hour via video/phone conference system.
