Purpose
To advise the PSW Board of Directors on the educational and practice needs of health-system pharmacists & technicians, ensure health system representation in PSW strategy, serve as a professional resource for PSW members, and advocate with PSW on a state and national level to continually advance health-system pharmacy practice.
The Health-System Pharmacy Advisory Committee chartered the Practice Advancement Leadership (PALT) Pharmacy Resident team and continues to provide collaboration, mentorship and practice-based insight.
Members of the Health-System Pharmacy Advisory Committee also provide feedback and input to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Wisconsin House of Delegates (HOD) representatives, as to the health-system issues affecting Wisconsin practice sites, the barriers that health-system pharmacy practices in Wisconsin face, and provide a sounding board for ASHP based policy and practice topics that the HOD representatives share.
Target
Practitioners working in, supporting and leading health-system pharmacy practices across Wisconsin, in various sites of practice, including academic teaching centers, critical access hospitals, rural/independent hospitals, veterans affairs practices, community/retail pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, and more.
Structure
The Health-System Pharmacy Advisory Committee is comprised of a Vice Chair, Chair and Past-Presiding Chair, and approximately 15 members serving two-year appointments with possible reappointment to an additional term, and one PSW staff member (indefinite term).
