Statement of Purpose
I am seeking election to the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin Board of Directors to give back to a profession that has shaped my career and to help ensure pharmacy continues to play a leading role in care delivery across our state.

Pharmacy in Wisconsin is at a pivotal moment. Workforce shortages are placing strain on teams and limiting access to care, even as we have a meaningful opportunity to further advance and elevate the role pharmacy caregivers play in improving health outcomes. Every day, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians make a difference in the lives of patients, and we must continue creating environments where that impact can expand.

I will advocate for advancing the role of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians by promoting practice models that enable teams to work at the top of their training, supporting recognition of pharmacists as essential providers, and scaling innovation that expands access and improves outcomes. I will also work to strengthen PSW’s voice by bringing together leaders across practice settings to ensure a unified and impactful future for the profession.

I would be honored to serve and help advance the profession alongside my colleagues across Wisconsin.

Statement of Purpose
I am honored and excited to be nominated for the PSW Board of Directors. Two important and interconnected issues facing the pharmacy profession that I care deeply about, and that squarely align with the PSW 2026 Strategic Plan, are: workforce burnout and the pharmacist pipeline. I believe workforce burnout not only negatively impacts our mental and physical health as individuals, but also our sense of professional identity (i.e., not feeling proud to be a pharmacist or suggesting young people not pursue the profession). This can also lead to a negative impact on the pharmacist pipeline. I have been passionate about workforce health as a public health issue. I am an active member of our school’s Well-being and Belonging Committee, I co-authored an American Public Health Association policy brief on this topic, co-authored a peer-reviewed article on exploration of psychosocial hazards and addressing workforce well-being, and have presented on related topics at the local, state, and national level. Wisconsin is a wonderful state to practice pharmacy, and PSW has, and will continue, to be a champion for all of us. The strength of PSW lies in its ability to unite diverse voices across the state, including pharmacists, technicians, and students (our future) - “One Voice, One Vision”. Together, we can build a robust workforce that provides exceptional care to our patients, but also takes care of ourselves and each other.
