Purpose
To promote greater use of pharmacy technicians through a system of educational advancement, to foster an encourage inter-professional relations through positive dialogue with other pharmacy practitioners. The Section shall advise the PSW Board of Directors as to practice needs unique to pharmacy technicians in an effort to increase networking among pharmacy technicians, to proactively inform PSW membership of changing practice norms and to promote the highest standards of technical practice. The Technician Section, supported by PSW Staff also strives to remain informed and proactive in legislative and regulatory activities affecting technician practice in Wisconsin and nationally.
Target
Pharmacy technician practitioners working in, supporting and leading pharmacy practices across Wisconsin, in various sites of practice.
Structure
The Technician Section is comprised of a President-Elect, President and Past-President and Secretary each serving one year, and one technician member representing each of the six PSW Regions of the state of Wisconsin, each serving for 2-year terms. The Section also includes a PSW Board of Directors liaison, serving one year, and a PSW staff member (Indefinite term).

Interested practitioners with pharmacy technical expertise/experience are encouraged to submit a CV, description of current position, and letter of interest/personal statement. Committee terms are from September to August to coincide with the PSW Annual Meeting.
Meetings
Committee meetings are held quarterly. All meetings will be held at the PSW headquarters in Madison and virtually as needed.
