I have worked as a pharmacy technician at Gundersen Health System for the past 9 years. Over that time, I have staffed in a variety of capacities and held several roles within the Inpatient Pharmacy. As a staffing technician, I delivered meds, rounded floors, restocked ADS machines, compounded IV meds, was a member of the USP 797/800 cleaning team for the facility. I filled support roles for several years in the pharmacy providing controlled substance diversion monitoring and investigation support and operating as the billing and coding liaison within pharmacy. I also served as the 340B Coordinator for Gundersen Health System before taking my current role as an Application Analyst in Pharmacy Information Systems. in my free time, I love to spend time outdoors. In particular, I enjoy spending time on the Mississippi River at my boathouse with my two dogs. There is a lot of room for growth in our field and I believe that advanced technician roles and involvement are the key to expanding pharmacy practice and opportunity for technicians.
