Purpose
To advise the PSW Board of Directors on the educational needs of ambulatory care pharmacists, serve as a professional resource for PSW members, and advocate with PSW on a state and national level to continually advance ambulatory care pharmacy practice. Target
Practitioners with ambulatory care expertise/experience.
Structure
The Committee is comprised of one chair-elect (2-year term), one chair (2-year term), and one past chair (1-year term). The total time commitment for the progression through chair-elect, chair and past chair is 5 years.
There are also nine at-large pharmacist members, at least two resident members, and one PSW staff member. The at-large pharmacist members serve 2-year terms with possible reappointment to an additional term. The resident members serve 1-year terms.
Committee terms are from September to August. Committee members are asked to participate in one of the subcommittee groups – Educational Support; Professional Resources; or Strategy, Promotion & Advocacy.
Meetings
Committee meetings are held 5 times per year. Orientation for new members occurs during the PSW Annual Meeting. The other four meetings are typically 3 hours in duration and are held every 2-3 months either in person at the PSW office in Madison or virtually. Subcommittees have additional virtual meetings every 1-2 months for up to 1 hour. Members are encouraged to attend PSW conferences.
