Purpose
The PSW Board of Directors provides strategic leadership and fiduciary oversight for the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin. The Board sets organizational priorities, ensures alignment with PSW’s mission and vision, upholds the values of the Society, and advances the profession of pharmacy to improve medication use and the health of Wisconsinites.
Target
The Board is comprised of elected and appointed leaders from across Wisconsin’s pharmacy community, representing pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in diverse practice settings. Together, they serve as stewards of the profession and representatives of PSW members.
Structure
The Board includes the PSW President, President-Elect, Board Chair (immediate past President), Treasurer, Technician representative, as well as regional Directors and Directors-at-Large from different areas of practice. Directors serve staggered terms to ensure continuity and fresh perspectives. The Deans of Wisconsin's schools of pharmacy and the PSW CEO serve as ex-officio members of the Board. The Board works closely with PSW staff and committees to coordinate and advance the Society’s strategic plan.
There are 12 elected positions on the board: 6 Region Directors
(Regions A, B, C, D, E, and F) and 6 At-large Directors that serve 2-year terms with possible reappointment to an additional term. Each school is represented by their Dean of Pharmacy on the board of Directors including: Concordia University Wisconsin, Medical College of Wisconsin, and University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Committee terms are from September to August.
Meetings
The PSW Board of Directors meets approximately quarterly, with additional special meetings or retreats as needed. Meetings are designed to foster dialogue, make strategic decisions, and connect the work of PSW’s committees and members. Board agendas emphasize governance, financial stewardship, strategic initiatives, and issues that impact pharmacy practice in Wisconsin.
