The PSW Strategic Coordination Council is a leadership body within PSW that plays a central role in aligning committee work with the organization’s strategic goals.

Committee Information

Purpose

The PSW Strategic Coordination Council’s core purpose is to support and implement PSW’s strategic plan, facilitate bi-directional communication between the PSW Board of Directors and advisory committees, and develop actionable pathways for realizing strategic initiatives.

Initiatives:
2022-2023: Unified and equitable format for PSW committee nominations
2024-Current: Pharmacy Workforce

Target

PSW Strategic Coordination Council meetings are structured to:

Share updates from each committee on their contributions to the strategic plan.
Identify opportunities for cross-committee collaboration and shared learning.

Structure

The PSW Strategic Coordination Council composed of representatives from each of PSW’s practice-based advisory committees—typically the immediate past chair or a designated delegate—along with two general members appointed by the PSW Board of Directors President. It is led by the PSW Board of Directors President and facilitated by the PSW Executive Vice President and CEO, with logistical support from the CEO’s Executive Assistant.

Meetings

The PSW Strategic Coordination Council meets quarterly. All meetings are held virtually and typically are 1 hour in length. Members are also encouraged to invite student learners and resident learners, when applicable.
PSW Strategic Coordination Council members are encouraged to attend PSW conferences and events and support the PSW Strategic Mission to provide a unified voice, resources, and leadership to advance the pharmacy profession and improve the quality of medication use in Wisconsin.
