Statement of Purpose
I feel incredibly fortunate to have served the PSW community as a member of the Board of Directors and hope to continue to promote this work as President-Elect. As a member of the board, I advocated for pharmacy professionals across Wisconsin (and beyond) and promoted the integral roles we play in patient-focused care.

Our profession faces many challenges and opportunities, including workforce shortages, burnout, factors that limit patients’ access to care, reduced reimbursement, and AI integration into care, to name just a few. However, through innovation and activism, pharmacists have continued to expand the ways in which we provide and improve patient care. In this rapidly changing environment, PSW has remained a critical tool to link us together, advocate for our teams, and disseminate information. If elected, I am committed to advancing initiatives that offer effective solutions to existing care gaps and improve the lives of our patients. I am grateful for the contributions of PSW and its membership in advancing the profession of Pharmacy and its role in the care we provide.

Sarah Schmidt

She serves as the Residency Program Director for the Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy and Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) PGY1 Community Based Residency Program. She was recently selected as the first Walgreens Shared Faculty at MCW, strengthening academic partnerships to prepare the next generation of pharmacists. She has demonstrated sustained leadership within the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW), including a four year term as Director at Large on the Board of Directors and currently represents Wisconsin in the APhA House of Delegates. Sarah is a collaborative, patient-centered leader committed to advancing pharmacy practice across Wisconsin.

Statement of Purpose
People are truly at the heart of my passion for pharmacy. I have always valued that our profession allows each of us to pursue the same degree yet follow remarkably diverse career paths. That diversity reflects what “One voice. One vision.” means - bringing various perspectives forward to strengthen and advance our organization. As the Wisconsin Delegate for the APhA, I have had the privilege to represent our state and advance the voice of the pharmacy profession. I am proud of our state’s reputation as a progressive, solution focused, and collaborative pharmacy community —qualities shaped by the leadership and influence of PSW. We engage in meaningful dialogue including challenges impacting the workforce and reimbursement pressures to work collectively towards solutions to advance the pharmacy profession.

Over the past decade, PSW has provided me with community, direction, and opportunities for growth as both a pharmacist and as a leader. Running for President is my way of giving back to an organization that has shaped my professional identity. I hope to contribute to the same culture of connection, advancing advocacy, and continuing forward thinking that defines the pharmacy profession in Wisconsin.

advocacy enables us to make meaningful impact through legislative reform, inclusivity efforts, and workforce development. In these dynamic times, it is imperative that our voices be united, strong, and constant. I look forward to working with you in achieving success together!
