Addiction Management and MOUD

Pharmacy professionals play a crucial role in providing patient care for addiction management and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). Supporting MOUD services encompasses understanding opioid use disorders and reducing stigma; understanding MOUD; harm reduction and overdose prevention; collaborative practice and access to patient care; public health and opioid abatement; and professional development and training. These resources are intended to support pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and student pharmacists in providing evidence-based, patient-centered care, and to enhance opioid stewardship efforts across Wisconsin.

PSW collaborated with various PSW member-experts and interdisciplinary healthcare partners to develop summaries on a variety of topics related to opioid use, mitigation of opioid misuse and abuse, stigma, substance use disorder, and medication assisted treatment.
